SUMMARY:Dalton Fall BioBlitz
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, October 21\, from 9am-12 Noon\, the Dalton Conservation Commission will be holding its 2nd “BioBlitz”.  A BioBlitz is a biological survey that aims to record all the living species within a designated area. This BioBlitz will be focused on surveying species within the Forest Lake State Park forest and the back section of the David Dana Forest.  The 1st BioBlitz was held on May 20\, with approximately 80 species being observed and recorded\, primarily within the David Dana Forest\, along with several additional observations by participants elsewhere within the Town of Dalton.  The data collected from the BioBlitz\, using the “iNaturalist” phone app to identify and catalogue the various species observed\, has been incorporated into the update of the Town of Dalton NRI.   Some of the more unique observations recorded included the Blue Cohosh and Yellow Lady Slippers. \nFor more information and to register\, please visit our iNaturalist project page at:  https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/dalton-nh-fall-2023-bioblitz-oct-21
